What Types of Dogs Do You Rescue?

Gone Rogue Girls Rescue is a breed-specific rescue dedicated to Mastiff, guardian, power, and giant breed dogs. While our primary focus is on these breeds, we occasionally assist closely related mixes and other dogs when resources and foster availability allow.

Some of the breeds we commonly rescue include:

  • Cane Corso

  • Presa Canario

  • English Mastiff

  • Bullmastiff

  • Boerboel

  • Great Dane

  • Dogue de Bordeaux (French Mastiff)

  • Neapolitan Mastiff

  • Tibetan Mastiff

  • Dogo Argentino

  • Rottweiler

  • Other guardian and giant breed mixes

Our mission is to advocate for breeds that are often misunderstood or overlooked, providing them with the medical care, training, rehabilitation, and loving homes they deserve. Because we are a 100% foster-based rescue, every intake depends on available foster homes, resources, and our ability to meet each dog's individual needs.

What Does It Mean That Gone Rogue Girls Rescue Is Foster-Based?

Gone Rogue Girls Rescue is a 100% foster-based rescue, meaning we do not operate a traditional animal shelter or kennel facility. Instead, every dog in our care lives in a safe, loving foster home where they receive individualized attention, medical care, socialization, and training while waiting for their forever family.

Living in a foster home allows us to better understand each dog's personality, temperament, and needs, helping us make successful, lifelong matches with adopters.

Because we rely entirely on foster homes, our ability to rescue more dogs depends on the availability of foster families. Every new foster home gives us the opportunity to save another life. If you're interested in becoming a foster, we'd love to welcome you to our team.

How Does the Owner Surrender Process Work?

We understand that surrendering a pet is never an easy decision. If you are no longer able to care for your dog, the first step is to complete our Owner Surrender Request Form.

Once your request is submitted, our team will carefully review the information provided and contact you to discuss your dog's medical history, behavior, and current circumstances. Additional information, veterinary records, or photographs may be requested during the review process.

Please note that submitting a surrender request does not guarantee acceptance into our rescue. As a 100% foster-based organization, all owner surrenders are accepted on a case-by-case basis and depend on foster availability, available resources, and our ability to safely meet the dog's individual needs.

If your surrender request is approved, our team will guide you through the next steps, including the required surrender agreement and intake process.

We are committed to making responsible decisions that are in the best interest of every dog entrusted to our care.

What Should I Do If I Have an Emergency as a Foster?

The safety of our foster dogs is our highest priority. If you experience an emergency, please remain calm and contact Gone Rogue Girls Rescue as soon as possible.

Medical Emergencies

  • If your foster dog is experiencing a life-threatening emergency (difficulty breathing, severe injury, seizures, hit by a vehicle, excessive bleeding, etc.), seek immediate veterinary care at the nearest emergency veterinary hospital if you are unable to reach a rescue representative first.

  • Notify the rescue as soon as it is safe to do so so we can assist with medical decisions and coordinate care.

Behavioral or Home Emergencies

  • If your foster dog becomes aggressive, escapes, is involved in a dog fight, or there is any situation that compromises the safety of people or animals, immediately separate all animals if it is safe to do so.

  • Secure your foster dog in a crate or separate room and contact the rescue for guidance before making any further decisions.

Never Rehome or Transfer a Foster Dog

  • Foster dogs remain the property of Gone Rogue Girls Rescue. They may never be rehomed, surrendered, given away, sold, or transferred to another person, rescue, shelter, or veterinarian without prior approval from the rescue.

Need Immediate Assistance?
If you are experiencing a foster emergency, contact your assigned Foster Counselor or a Gone Rogue Girls Rescue representative immediately. If you are unable to reach someone and your foster dog's life is in immediate danger, seek emergency veterinary care first, then notify the rescue as soon as possible.

We are here to support you every step of the way. Thank you for opening your home and helping save lives.
